[edit] A State Of Trance
A State Of Trance (short ASOT) is the title of Armin van Buuren's weekly radio show. In his show, Armin presents the latest tracks from the Trance and Progressive Scene in a two-hour set. Beside the latest tracks, he also plays the Tune of the Week and the A State Of Trance Classic.
In March 2001 Armin broadcast his first show on the Dutch radio station ID&T Radio (today Slam FM). Armin van Buuren left the station in 2004 when it was reorganized. He changed to ETN.FM, but only a few weeks later he changed again to DI.FM and Fresh FM. Today A State Of Trance is probably the biggest dance radio show, as it is broadcast around the globe on fifteen radio stations. The show can be received via satellite in most parts of Europe.
In May 2006, Armin celebrated the 250th broadcast and also the five year anniversary of A State Of Trance. One year later, in May 2007, Armin celebrated the 350th show in Den Bosch in the Netherlands together with Guest-DJs Aly & Fila, Sean Tyas, Menno De Jong, Marcel Woods and Markus Schulz. Over 6000 guests visited the free event, and even more listened to the seven-hour-event by radio.
Not only the radio show, but also multiple compilations by Armin van Buuren and a sublabel of Armada are named A State Of Trance.
